Happy Friday!  While our 8th Graders have  started their CA Science Tests this week, all JLS students will be following a special CAASPP Testing Schedule next week - Monday, April 15 through Wednesday, April 17, 2024. Please note, all of our school days will continue to start at 8:30 AM, and our dismissal times will remain the same as usual, with exception to Tuesday, April 16 with a 3:10 PM dismissal (5 minutes earlier than normal). 

I will be happy to share more information about the CAASPP tests and answer questions at today's Principal Coffee from 8:45-9:30 AM.

• This Week’s Schedule: 

  • Thursday, March 28 - “Restructured” Bell Schedule = 2:30 PM Dismissal

  • Friday, March 29 - PAUSD Minimum Day = Middle School Dismissal is 12:40 PM.  Grab ‘n Go Lunch is available 12:40-1:00 PM. 

• Spring Break: Monday, April 1st - Friday, April 5th (No School, JLS Office closed)

IMPORTANT UPDATE

The Hoover Elementary Parking Lot and Drive will be CLOSED from March 25th 2024. 

JLS Families are asked to use the Mitchell Park Library Drop Off Zone, or park their cars in side streets and walk the last block to JLS.

JLS Students are encouraged to WALK, RIDE or ROLL to and from school whenever possible to reduce congestion.

It's a hectic time of year, so I wanted to make sure this morning's meeting was on your radar.  I hope many of you can join our Community Zoom today at 8:45-9:30 AM.  

This spring, students across the state will participate in the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP).  This year, PAUSD middle schools will give the summative assessments between April 11 and May 10, 2024. The JLS Middle School Test Schedule is listed at the end of this letter.
