JLS Closing Procedures - Important Dates 2024
Dear JLS Families,
With all the excitement that comes with the end of the year, we want to be sure you are aware of some of the JLS closing procedures.
TEXTBOOKS - Return Tuesday, May 21
All textbooks were today, May 21. If a textbook cannot be found, there will be a replacement fee. Fees can be paid to Ms. Chen in the front office. Students need to have all books returned or fees paid in order to receive their yearbooks. If your student still has textbooks at home, please return them to school as soon as possible.
8th Grade: To go to Great America, textbooks are returned or fees are paid. If students bring their books/fees Friday morning, May 24, they will still be able to attend.
YEARBOOKS - Distribute Wednesday, May 29
For those who prepaid for yearbooks, they will be distributed during PRIME on Wednesday, May 29. For students to receive their yearbooks, the must meet the following requirements:
- Textbooks/classroom texts/library books returned
- Library fines paid
- Musical instruments returned
LOCKERS - Clean Tuesday, May 28
All students will empty their lockers on Tuesday, May 28.
6th and 7th Grade: Students will empty their lockers and take their locks home over the summer. Students will write and attach the combination. Help students find a safe place to store their lock so they can bring it back to school on Aug. 15 for their new locker.
8th Grade: Students will clear out their lockers and turn in their locks. If a lock is lost, there is a fee of $10. This can be given to Ms. Chen in the front office.
CHROMEBOOKS - Return Tuesday, May 21-Thursday, May 23 - 8th Grade Only
6th and 7th Grade: Students have the privilege to take their Chromebooks (CB) home over the summer. The CB needs to be maintained in good shape. Students will use this CB through their 8th grade year.
8th Grade: Students will return computers on Tuesday, May 21-Thursday, May 23.. If their computer is not turned in or in poor condition, a donation of $450 will be requested. In order for students to attend the promotion party their Chromebooks and locks need to be turned in or fees paid before entry.
The finish line is in clear sight! We offer a big thank you for all your helpful reminders to your child so we can finish the year strong. If you have questions, reach out to your grade level administrator or counselor.
