Counseling Department

The School Counselor is part of a team working with parents, teachers, administrators, and community resources to help make Greene a caring and supportive place for every student.  We work to help students overcome barriers to their progress in their academic, social, and emotional growth, by providing prevention and intervention services.

We are available for listening, talking, helping, and so much more!  Please feel free to contact us for anything and please let us know if you have a need or request for you or your student. 

At Greene, we are fortunate to have one counselor per grade level and do what is considered “looping.” In other words, the grade level counselor stays with their cohort of students for all three years of middle school. While we are the 6th grade counselor one year, the following year we will become the 7th grade counselor, then the 8th the year after. This system allows us to develop strong relationships with the students and families that we work with.

The PAUSD School Counseling Program strives to produce high achieving learners who graduate college and career ready, well prepared to meet the challenges and high expectations of a diverse and changing world. All students participate in quality opportunities for self-directed personal growth supported by the comprehensive School Counseling Program. The School Counseling Program facilitates strategic partnerships between the school, family and community to develop successful, life-long learners and productive citizens.

The School Counseling Program at PAUSD middle and high schools seek to positively impact the lives of ALL of our students by partnering with staff, parents and community.

Our program offers comprehensive planning and guidance services addressing student academic, diverse career and college goals, as well as personal and social development.

We work to give ALL students the opportunities to acquire the educational and social competencies necessary for growth toward lifelong success and effective, responsible citizenship for a diverse and changing world.
